Biological Engineer / Entomologist
- BS in Bioengineering from the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto and the Institute of Biomedical Sciences Abel Salazar;
- MS in Bioengineering from the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto.
Environment and Biodiversity Consultant at Floradata. He has developed his master’s thesis in bioremediation of effluents produced in municipal waste management facilities. Since 2020 he participates and coordinates biodiversity inventory studies, especially in the insect group. He currently coordinates the national night butterfly sampling project called “Rede de Estações de Borboletas Noturnas”. João has more than 10 published articles on Portugal’s lepidopterans.
